Hello and Welcome All:
It is with deep gratitude and a sense of eager anticipation that I step into the Executive Director position here at WISR. I have been touched by the incredible support of WISR founders Rachel and Erin in making this transition. I know I’m not alone in factually stating that recognition of and support for my contributions to our industry have been relatively rare in my 35-year career.
I never knew how energizing and empowering it would be to receive acknowledgement and care until I began to work more closely with these two amazing women. A third woman, Kathy Amaral, who expertly administers WISR marketing and communications work, has supported my WISR onboarding with loving encouragement.
It is exactly this experience of acknowledgment and support I hope to have the honor of bestowing on each of you. I envision WISR as an organization to assist every woman who knows she belongs here to find her place and voice at the proverbial table. I intend to further elevate the status of women in the industry and create a pipeline leading to places women have yet to tread, filling it with powerful, capable women.
Emergence from the pandemic and Spring represent the perfect opportunity for us all here at WISR to refresh programming in WISR’s fifth year. Built on the same foundational principles of being an organization for and by women, you will notice some forthcoming changes to our website and programming this year. If you are a member/on our mailing list, look for messaging from us. If you are not a member – please join here. Check this website frequently – we will update it with featured programming as we secure our presenters.
See you at Waste Expo!
